Youlim Song is a NCSA-CPT trainer who believes in exercise as an avenue to connect with our body, express ourselves, and feel empowered in all dimensions of our life. Through her own healing journey, she learnt how movement expands our capacity to be more present in our bodies and feel more alive and joyful. She is always excited to share the art and science of having a good time while getting strong!
Youlim’s approach to personal training focuses on building a felt sense of safety, choice and agency. She specializes in working with individuals seeking movement and exercise to support their mental health, and uses a trauma-informed framework of personal training. Sessions with Youlim include practices for nervous system regulation and intentional release of stress. Youlim also enjoys working with individuals who are beginning or re-connecting with exercise, and approaches training as a collaborative exploration of what works best for each client.
Youlim grew up in Seoul and Hong Kong, and has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Neuroscience from Johns Hopkins University. She has a professional background in public health and trauma-informed care. Outside of the gym, Youlim spends her time playing fetch with her dog Smooch and listening to lots of jazz.
