Andrea Van Zile
Andrea was introduced to the Pilates method in 2005 while recovering from an elbow injury…. and it was love at first “hundred!”
Completing her 500 hour comprehensive certification at Core Pilates NYC, Andrea chose to specialize in the areas of pre & postnatal Pilates, as well as injuries and illnesses. She sincerely believes that Pilates is for everyone and practicing the method will make you do everything you love, better.
Prior to joining the VIDA Fitness family in 2016, Andrea was the Pilates Program Director and lead instructor at WFNYC.
Chris has been teaching Pilates full time for over 5 years. His classes emphasize full body strength and precision to build muscles that lead to a stronger, more integrated core while offering lots of modifications for any body. He believes that Pilates is the perfect complement to any exercise regime: weekly dedication to Pilates results in more body awareness which leads to less joint pain, more freedom of movement and increased performance in other sports or gym activities. Whether you are coming off an injury, looking to improve range of motion or hoping for gains in your bench press, his class can help you do the work necessary to meet your goals.
Jacqueline Starr has been working at Vida as a personal trainer since 2015, and as a reformer instructor since 2017. Jackie was educated through NASM for her personal training certification, and Balanced Body as a reformer instructor. Additionally, she has a certification in Biomechanics and Human Movement from DBC Fitness. Although running and swimming are her favorite ways to workout, Jackie always enjoyed working on the reformer. The desire to become certified and teach came out of her own experience with a back injury which put almost all activity on hold. Through the reformer she was able to remain active through most ranges of motion without pain, and learn about more acute strength and movement. Her classes are form focused, and aim to develop better awareness of proper muscle activation throughout an entire range of motion. She loves working to develop strength and stability for common daily activities, but especially enjoys working with those recovering from an injury, or with nagging aches and pains.
Liz loves teaching all forms of mindful movement. She has been practicing Pilates since 2009 and teaching since 2014. She has trained in numerous styles, but most extensively in the Balanced Body system. She is currently pursuing a certification in biomechanics and is fascinated by the human body. Liz is passionate about helping her clients improve their quality of life!
