Growing up, Bakari was overweight and struggled with nutrition. At the age of 12, he decided to workout every day after school and eat smaller portions of his food. After 2 months of consistency, Bakari lost 20lbs and got addicted to how his body responded to exercise and good nutrition. He eventually went on to become a Division-1 athlete playing basketball at Hampton University and developed a passion for strength and conditioning. Following graduation, Bakari decided to pursue a Master’s degree in Kinesiology & Fitness Management from Indiana University. Bakari brings over 7 years of experience in personal training and group fitness instruction, including boot camps, Olympic weightlifting, powerlifting, high intensity interval training, and CrossFit. He believes that a fit and healthy lifestyle starts with a strong foundation of consistency, hard work and discipline. Bakari often tells himself and his clients to “Do what you have to do, so you can do what you want to do!”
