VIDA Fitness is proud to serve our surrounding communities and residential neighborhoods. VIDA opened for business in August of 2006 as a local, start-up company and we’re honored to regularly contribute to the overall success of other small businesses and non-profit organizations.

We enjoy partnering with our neighbors on a wide variety of fundraisers, social events, street festivals, fun runs, and other philanthropic efforts. All of our locations are in Washington DC, so we are particularly interested in opportunities within the Dupont Circle, Logan Circle, Mount Vernon Triangle, Penn Quarter, U Street Corridor, Chinatown, and Navy Yards neighborhoods.

If you are interested in partnering with VIDA for a specific event or initiative, please send a detailed inquiry to [email protected] and reference Community in the Subject Line.

Annual ALS Fundraising & Silent Auction Event

May is the awareness month of Amyotrophic Laterals Sclerosis (ALS) or also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease. The Penthouse Pool Club hosted the third annual ALS Silent Auction on May 19th. Morning talk show hosts from The Tommy Show, Tommy McFly and Kelly Collis, auctioned themselves off to the highest bidder in an Ice Bucket Challenge. In the past two years, the auction event has raised a combined total of more than $50,000. The poolside, rooftop cocktail party included a silent auction to benefit Augie’s Quest, a nonprofit research dedicated to finding a cure for ALS. The event featured food from the Penthouse Pool Club’s new menu a live DJ spun house tracks while guests bid on silent auction items donated by DC area retailers and businesses. Guests were invited to sponsor the event for $1000 which included 10 event tickets and access to a cabana suite with a complimentary bottle and bottle service all night long.

Annual 5k for Thrive DC

VIDA Fitness hosted its first annual 5K Run/Walk on November 14th at East Potomac Park. This race was done in efforts to promote wintertime fitness, wellness and healthy living. The DC Fitness Club donated proceeds from the event to Thrive DC in efforts to end homelessness in the DC Area. With East Potomac Park’s flat running course which surrounds the Potomac River, VIDA’s 5K Run/Walk is geared towards all ages and all levels of runners. VIDA Fitness also sponsored a post-race happy hour for participants and their families at Capitol City Brewing Company Downtown in which participants and their families celebrated with half off bloody mary’s and/or mimosas. Race participants were welcome to enter in drawings for grand prizes and receive complimentary massages.

2017 Partnership with Athlete Ally for Capital Pride Weekend

VIDA Fitness partnered with Athlete Ally to host a special Meet the Athletes photo opportunity reception on June 10th. Star LGBT olympic, professional and collegiate athletes were available for photos and autographs and to talk about their athletic careers. This event was free and open to the public. Athlete Ally’s mission is to educate and activate athletic communities to eliminate homophobia and transphobia in sports and to exercise their leadership to champion LGBT equality. Athlete Ally is a nonprofit organization that mobilizes ambassadors in collegiate, professional and Olympic sports who work to foster “allyship” in their athletic environments. VIDA Fitness is a proud sponsor of LGBT causes. In addition to the Meet the Athletes reception, Athlete Ally athletes joined VIDA on their Pride Parade float and marched together at the Equality March for Unity & Pride.

Celebrating 10 Years of VIDA + Candelight Vigil for Pulse Victims

VIDA Fitness celebrated its ten-year anniversary on May 21st. The DC fitness club celebrated its Diamond Anniversary on all five levels of its U Street flagship location, including the Penthouse Pool Club. The circus themed-party was accessorized with stilt walkers on the red carpet and a contortionist performing in giant hamster ball floating in the rooftop pool. In addition to gathering guests to celebrate, everyone also mourned with a candlelight vigil and a moment of silence for the victims and families of the Orlando mass shooting. VIDA Fitness first opened at Verizon Center and has expanded its locations in DC to Logan Circle, Penn Quarter, DuPont Circle, Mt. Vernon, and Navy Yard neighborhoods. VIDA Fitness takes fitness centers, gyms, and workout facilities to a more sophisticated level of expression by incorporating functional design, state-of-the art wellness options, a signature style and house-brand health and beauty products.

A day without immigrants

Immigrants across the country stayed away from work on February 16th to demonstrate their important role they play in making this country function. The discussion revolving immigrants today shows how we have lost many qualities that collectively make us better as a nation. VIDA Fitness has rejected all forms of discrimination against immigrants and demands that our government treats everyone in the immigrant community with respect and compassion. VIDA Fitness supports the Day Without Immigrants imitative and extends their admiration to their employees, members, friends, family, and immigrant communities across the nation.

A day without women efforts

March 8th is now recognized as A Day Without a Woman, recognizing the enormous value that women add to our socio-economic system. Faced with lower wages, sexual harassment, job insecurity, and greater inequalities, women do not allow this to stop them. In honor of women, VIDA Fitness decided to participate in the festivities by offering free workouts to any woman who partakes in “A Day Without Women” at any of their six locations in the District. Women could use the gym’s facilities for their own workout or join a group fitness class. VIDA Fitness recognizes how greatly women benefit not only their organization but our world as well.

Anacostia Waterfron Restoration

The VIDA Fitness Yards team volunteered at the Anacostia Waterfront Restoration Day organized by our ANC David Garber.  VIDA assisted in planting native species along the waterfront: Goldenrod, Hibiscus, and Irises — as well as helping with trash and debris removal and invasive plant species removal. With the the largest team on site VIDA members and staff got dirty and felt great about helping restore and preserve the Anacostia waterfront!

VIDA Fitness Members came to VIDA U Street for our Rooftop Cycling Fundraiser for Augie’s Quest and to raise money for ALS research. We’d like to thank everyone who took part in our month long fundraiser. It was a great success and once again the VIDA Members rose to the occasion to make a difference in the lives of those touched by ALS by raising $14,330.25 during our ALS charity events.
