This course follows the path outlined in the Pancha Maya Kosha Model of Being, as laid out in the Taittiriya Upanishad, and the associated yoga practices for each layer.
ASANA & PRANAYAMA

MEDITATION
Find stillness. Then teach it. You’ll explore techniques from classical yogic traditions and modern mindfulness, learning how to guide others into deeper awareness and clarity.
SANGHA
Spend time in the company of other practitioners and teachers, and learn how to lead your own community dedicated to growth, strength, and harmony.
Learn a full 60- to 90-minute class you can teach as soon as you graduate.

Both City Vista and Reston courses are led and developed by Chris Parkison and other Master instructors from the DMV Community.

Yes. VIDA Yoga Center is a 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Alliance registered school. You can view our Yoga Alliance profile any time.
Fill out the form on this page and we will send you an application. Complete the application, send us a short written statement about what brings you to the training, and make your payment. That is it, you are in.
Whatever shape you are in now is enough. We give you plenty of modifications for the poses and you will get much stronger during the training. Many people leave in the best shape of their lives. We have had trainees with back, knee and shoulder issues, and one person did the whole training with a broken toe. There is also far more to yoga than postures.
Absolutely. Some graduates teach right away and some never do. This training is designed to teach you about yoga, and most students who sign up are here to deepen their knowledge and expand their personal practice.
Yes. Once you have submitted your final exam and completed the requirements you receive a certificate. You can take it to any gym or yoga studio in the world as proof that you are a 200-hour certified yoga instructor, and you may register with Yoga Alliance.
Yes, in one of two ways. You can take the weekend you missed at the Reston or City Vista training that same year, or come back the next year and take it. You can return any time to retake a weekend at either location.
Yes, for both members and non-members. All payment plans must be completed by the final month of the training, March for City Vista and May for Reston.
