Reach your #VIDAresolution faster with the January Weight Loss Challenge!

If you’re like the majority of us, you probably made a resolution to lose weight in 2015. Or perhaps you’re already an active member of the VIDA Fitness community but looking for that extra push to break your plateau (and help shed off those holiday pounds!)
Our January Weight Loss Challenge is here and ready to help! This six week program begins January 19th and includes two 45 minute small group (4 people max) training sessions a week with one of our certified personal trainers. Each participant also receives a 25 minute one-on-one nutritional consult with our Registered Dietician Nutritionist, Cat Taylor.
The Weight Loss Challenge is open to people of all fitness levels. You can expect a combination of weight training and strength exercises designed to challenge your body and push you to the next level. These workouts are intended to burn the max amount of calories possible in the 45 minute session, so come prepared to give it all you’ve got!
An important feature of the program is the small group setting. Lisa Lipscomb, the VIDA Fitness Regional Director of Personal Training explains that with a small class you’re getting the best of both worlds when it comes to personal training.
“Four people is perfect because you’re getting individual attention from the instructor but you still feel the camaraderie and support of the group participants,” says Lipscomb.
It’s also much easier to hold yourself accountable for showing up to workouts when you know the rest of class is depending on your being there.
“In large classes it’s easy to get lost in the back and feel anonymous,” says Lipscomb. “With this program, your friends will know if you’re not there. It may be easy to cancel on yourself, but it’s a lot harder to cancel on your friends,” she says.
In addition to ensuring that you show up for workouts, training in a group makes it easier to stay focused on your goals and stay motivated when things get difficult. It helps to have people pushing you through that last rep when your body is screaming in protest. Plus, your fellow participants are going through the same fatiguing experience. Knowing that you’re not in it alone makes all the difference in the world!
In your initial nutritional consult with Cat Taylor you will share what your current diet consists of and learn if there are any small changes you can make to improve your diet. Taylor will be available over email for regular check-ins during the six weeks to help keep you on track, and address questions regarding nutrition and balancing calories. If you’d like to pursue additional VIDA nutritional counseling, that option will be made available to you as well.
We all know the two components of successful weight loss are exercise and proper nutrition. Our Weight Loss Challenge delivers the perfect combination of the two in a positive, energetic environment that has been proven to get you the results you want.
“After teaching this class with such a great success, I can honestly say that we’ve changed the way our participants think about their health and exercise,” explains our Regional Group Fitness Director, Alexx Griffin. “The number on the scale is not nearly as important as how they look and feel,” he says.
