VIDA’s 4th annual fundraiser and silent auction is quickly approaching. This year’s event is taking place Friday, May 11 from 6–9 p.m. at the Penthouse Pool Club at The Yards. Best of all, 100 percent of ticket sales, cash bar revenue, and silent auction sales will be donated to Athlete Ally, a non-profit organization working toward ending homophobia and transphobia in sports.
Just had my latest bi-weekly weigh-in and InBody assessment with VIDA Registered Dietitian Addie Claire Merletti and I’m super excited to report that my hard work over these last two weeks since she and I last met is continuing to work!

Tyler Bridegan has been a VIDA member for less than a year, but he’s already seeing major results. The 27-year-old attorney has dropped more than 50 lbs and has substantially lowered his body fat percentage — and he’s just getting started!
My last post was a bit of a downer. At three months into this fitness journey, I wasn’t seeing the results that I wanted to see. There are a lot of reasons for that, mostly a massive amount of travel which meant eating out, making it much harder to eat healthily and track my food, and just being away from the VIDA -- not to mention my learning curve on how to effectively lose weight and build muscle at the same time. I’ve had some stumbles.
We all have goals. They may be related to your career, family, health, or just about anything in between. But to accomplish your goals, you need to know how to set them. And it’s not as simple as saying “I want this to happen,” and expecting everything to fall into place.
If you’ve ever thought about giving Olympic weightlifting a try, VIDA is a great place to begin that journey. We caught up with Cat Doyle, Personal Training Manager at VIDA Fitness Logan Circle, to chat about how to get started.
I’m not going to let slow progress derail me. I refuse to. In fact, I’m going to take a deep breath, reset myself mentally, refocus, and channel it into motivation. That’s the only option I’m allowing myself. Because as hard as I’ve worked so far, I know I can do more and better. I obviously need to.
