🌈 Happy Pride Month, DC! 🏳️🌈
In celebration of Pride Month in June, and the safe return to grand social gatherings— we invite you to stand with VIDA Fitness on June 12th and June 13th to embrace the diversity of the LGBTQ+ community while acknowledging the continued fight for equality! In recent years, VIDA Fitness has participated in the line-up of festivities led by the non-profit organization, Capital Pride Alliance, through marches, parade floats, and inclusive and interactive mixers.
With decades of Pride resilience and victories in the Nation’s capital, Capital Pride was established in 1975 by Capital Pride Alliance as a leading force for LGBTQ+ community outreach and diversity celebrations. Attendees are presented with a curated collection of mindful DC Pride events, installations, and programs held throughout the month of June for each year. The theme for the 2021 campaign,“#StillWe Are Colorful”, uplifts Pride Month through commemoration and recognition of the impact LGBTQ+ individuals, advocates, and allies have achieved.
“#StillWe, is a powerful statement about the resilience, struggles, celebrations, and pride that exist within our community. It honors the battles that have paved the way for the progress we now enjoy, while acknowledging the tremendous work that is still left for us to do. In spite of extreme adversity facing members of the LGBTQ+ community, we must come together to support, love, resist, and, thrive.” – Capital Pride
As a committed LGBTQ+ supporter and advocate, VIDA has been celebrating Pride for years – check out what we did in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 – this year, we will be hosting special events on June 12th and June 13th at the Penthouse pools to show solidarity with Capital Pride, and to provide a safe space for the community and allies to rejoice in!
